Buggy

This project was created for the global game jam competition 2023 and is a 2D platformer where you have the ability to create a number of different plants and vines to progress in the lave and protect yourself from the hostile environment. 

The theme for this jam was "Roots" and took place over a 48 hour period and the game engine we used was Unity.

The team size for this project was 6 with the composition of 1 designer,1 writer(animator), 2 artist and 2 programmers.

For this project teamwork and work allocation was key to creating a viable game within the timespan of the jam. With this in mind I focused on all of the gameplay basics first to create a playable character for our level designer to design the levels with, I then moved to designing the AI of the enemy to create a good base for my partner programmer to build a unique and interesting planting system to differentiate our game from the competition.
I then worked to create the main menu, credits menu and the pause menu which are integral to a solid final product.
During the course of this game jam I had to rely on my communication skills to work smoothly and efficiently with my teammates to create this solid game.
