MATTHEW WILSON
The Final Stretch

The final stretch is a 2 player couch co-op/pvp
game where 2 players battle it out to clear a total wipeout style obstacle course. Player 1 takes on the role of the runner and must complete the course before the time runs out and player 2 takes on the role of game master and must stop the player from completing the course using fun traps along the way.
this game was created in Unity for my first year university course over the course of 4 months with a team size of 4.
During this project I took the role of general programmer in charge of the player 2 experience and repo manager

For this project I had to overcome a lot of team expectation challenges, this is because we were initially formed as a larger team but quickly realised we would have to deal with a lot of team members being absent from the development process.
To overcome this the team handled task distribution collaboratively making use of agile to come up with a system that worked throughout the project despite our unfortunate luck with team formation.
My role in this project mainly focused on the 2 player aspect of the game and making sure the game was fun and intuitive, for this I worked closely with designers and play testers to get a good gameplay loop for both players.
